Lakodia Outfitters

  About Lakodia Outfitters

Lakodia Outfitters is not your average pheasant hunting opportunity. Yes, we provide 2,200 acres of prime habitat. Yes, we provide a combination of rustic charm and modern comforts on a lakefront setting. Yes, we provide seasoned local guides and well-trained hunting dogs who know where to find the most birds per square mile. Yes, we provide all-inclusive services, including cleaning, vacuum-packing, and freezing of pheasants. Yes, our meals are top-notch. And, yes, we have a game room, TV and DVD players, and Internet access.

However, what makes Lakodia Outfitters unique is the fact that the fees that you pay are directed towards a variety of youth-oriented activities of Camp Lakodia, LLC. This non-profit organization provides camps for Deaf and hard of hearing youth from all over the nation at its resort on Lake Herman in Madison, SD. Examples of such activities include leadership and literacy camps for 5 th through 12 th graders, and a basketball camp led by the first deaf WNBA player. We also serve adults, such as through a week-long retreat for deaf senior citizens.

Hunters can feel comfortable in the knowledge that any net revenue generated by Lakodia Outfitters goes towards a good cause—furthering the development of deaf and hard of hearing children (and adults) across America. On behalf of the hundreds of individuals that Camp Lakodia has served over the years, we thank you for your patronage of Lakodia Outfitters!

"I won't waste time listing the reasons to hunt roosters in South Dakota. You've either hunted there and want to go back, or you dream of someday going. But due to these facts, pheasant outfitters are numerous and run the full gamut of the scale, from lazy, overpriced guides that will shack you up in, well, shacks, to expert outfitters with well-trained dogs and premium accommodations. One of the latter is Lakodia Outfitters, who I hunted with during the fall of 2005. After getting the misses out of my system on Lakodia's private clay pigeon range, I hunted their rooster-saturated 2,200 acres of land. The dogs were efficient, a joy to watch and were the major factor why I bagged a limit of birds on both days of my hunt."
